Report from Raewyn Boersen, Super Regional Contest Director.

Raewyn is retiring after nearly 30 years of service to the South Pacific Region. Thank you, Raewyn!

We did it again!  Another successful regional contest with a result that all are happy with. We will have 1 x  NZ team and 1 x Australian team representing the South Pacific Region in Porto next year. (Note - we later learned that we would have a 3rd team advancing).

After the Awards ceremony, the room was buzzing and chats with the teams afterwards said that we got it right. They enjoyed themselves, they were challenged, they learned. That is three big wins from where I sit!

UNSW and the team, thanks for providing a great environment for us. All of that prep and behind-the scenes work that you all did, paid off.

Thanks also to Richard, Adelie and others from the WiseTech Global team. You provided great speakers that engaged the students, you added that fun factor and you were great role models that the students easily related to. Much appreciated.

Report from Max Ward, Chief Judge

The judges are pleased with the results. Our hope was that the contest allowed competitors to push themselves and to spend the whole five hours solving interesting questions. I think we achieved this. All the teams solved at least four problems, and the top team solved eleven. This shows great efforts at both the lower and upper ends of the scoreboard. Further, there was an exciting (and tight) race for second place, which was fun to resolve after the final hour. Congratulations to all our Regional Finals teams!
